Rancon Real Estate has deep roots in the La Cresta area; an area which is near and dear to our owner’s heart.
As a pioneer in the Temecula/Murrieta area, Dan saw the potential of the La Cresta area. His love of the area motivated him to purchase 5,000 acres from Kaiser Aetna, the large land owner at the time. This was the beginning of what was to be. With just rough dirt roads throughout La Cresta, Dan was responsible for most of the road improvements as well as bringing homes to the community.
With his pioneer mindset and trail blazer attitiude, Dan effectively subdivided the land into 5, 10, and 20 acre parcels. Dan understood that in order to make La Cresta a viable community, homes and homeowners were needed. He was responsible for the first home to be built in La Cresta. To keep the progression and momentum going, Dan created a construction division within Rancon and built about 12 custom homes in La Cresta for homeowners to purchase as their residence. These are the humble beginnings of the beautiful and prestigious La Cresta community.
Here you can get away from the bustle of the city and thoroughly relax amongst the gentle rolling hills or sit near a winding creek beneath a billowy oak tree. Known today as primarily an equestrian area, this community is located atop the western hills of the Santa Rosa Plateau area in Murrieta. Just 16 air miles from the ocean and minutes from town, this higher elevation brings cool afternoon breezes that provide an ideal climate for residents.
Whether you are a horse enthusiast or just appreciate privacy and open space, homes here definitely reflect an elegant stature and affluence within a country setting. Enriched by magnificent oak trees and views, residents enjoy miles of horse trails that meander through the land for peaceful horseback rides amongst nature.
Ranging in size from approximately 2,500 square feet to homes beyond 10,000 sq. ft, prices can begin as low as $500,000 and accelerate to millions of dollars. The wide variant comes from the lot size (many are above the 5 acre minimum) as well as components related to construction features, home size, and land improvements.
The Santa Rosa Plateau Ecological Reserve is nearby, consisting of approximately 9000 acres. The Reserve was established to protect the land and the unique ecosystem – oak trees, wetlands, coastal sage chaparral, vernal pools as well as bird, animal, and plant species.
Walking, hiking, and horse trails run throughout the Preserve. Visitors can see two of the oldest structures in Riverside County – bunkhouses used by cowboys dating back to 1846 and shaded by a 400-year old tree.
Luxury homes intertwined with natural qualities of the land, clear blue skies, fresh air, and star-studded nights makes the La Cresta/Tenaja area a special location for elegant country living in harmony with the environment.
