The Temecula neighborhood known as Vail Ranch, bears the name of an important Temecula gentleman, name Walter Vail. Arriving in the US in 1904, Walter Vail purchased 87,500 acres with some partners, of which the Township of Temecula was included. The land was primarily used by Vail as a working cattle ranch and remained that way until December, 1964, when Vail Ranch was sold to Kaiser Development company, along with an additional 10,000 acres. The goal was to transform and develop the Temecula Valley, and they certainly did.
The Vail Ranch community was established in the 1990’s and is located on the south east side of Temecula. This neighborhood consists of single family homes in a wide variety of sizes.
